Payment Information

What payment options are available?

We accept multiple forms of payment for most auctions, unless stated otherwise.

Direct Bank Deposit

Direct bank deposits through any ASB Bank branch will appear immediately in our account letting us ship your order that day, provided it's in cleared funds and deposited before 4pm. If you don't have an ASB Bank branch in your town, you can visit your regular bank and ask them to do a transfer from your account into ours. This is not instant, however, and will most likely go in overnight.  Depositing uncleared funds, for example a personal cheque, will incur a clearance delay until the funds are available, usually 5 banking days.

Please note: Remember to ask the teller to add your auction number as the reference for the deposit, as this is the only way for us to tell what payment is for what order!  If you forget your auction number, please use any other identifying details such as your name, auction number, or email address as the reference instead.

Internet/Phone Bank Transfer

Bank transfers via Internet or phone are usually the easiest way to deposit funds into our account. Transfers usually go in overnight, providing you set them up before 8pm that day. If you are an ASB Bank customer, the transfer will be instant.  If you are a non-bank customer, for example a credit union, your transfer may take an additional day. Please contact your financial provider for more information about these services and processing delays.

Please note: Transfers set up on a weekend or public holiday will be processed on the next business day, which means the payment will usually show on the second next business day. For example, transfers setup over the weekend will be processed Monday night and will show in our account on the following Tuesday.

Credit Card (Through our secure checkout, serviced by ASB)

Payment by Credit Card is offered on certain auctions, and is both quick and easy. Details on how to pay via Credit Card will be in your automatic email, when applicable.

PayNow (Credit Card through TradeMe)

Payment by Credit Card via Trade Me's PayNow service is also available on some auctions.   Sorry, but due to the way TradeMe operates the BuyNow facility, our checkout's attempts to reduce shipping on combined auctions is incompatible.  TradeMe's PayNow will charge full shipping even on combined auctions.

Cash

We accept cash as payment for pickups only. Please do not send cash in the mail.

Cheque

Payment by personal or company cheque is accepted, however please note that we will wait five working days for the cheque to clear before sending out your order. If you need your item(s) in a hurry, one of the other payment options are highly recommended.

We also accept bank cheques and as there is no clearance necessary, we will send your order out the day we receive it.

Layby Terms

Most items are available on layby, however if you are unsure please ask us for more details.  We require our LayBy agreement to be accepted and returned to us via email before the LayBy begins.  Email us to arrange this after the auction ends.

Here are our basic layby terms:

    The purchase must be completed within a 6 week time period from the date the auction ends. The first deposit is to be as mentioned in the auction or 20% of the final price (including accessories if purchased) and should be made within 5 working days from the auction end. The remaining balance can be split into payments of your choosing over a period of up to 6 weeks.  Each payment will be acknowledged via email.

    After the initial deposit, if the layby is unable to be completed or the item is returned for a refund, the deposit and any other payments will be transferred back to you minus a $10 administration fee and success fees charged to us by Trademe.co.nz unless these can be recovered from TradeMe. (Fees can usually be recovered if requested within 28 days of the auction ending. After this time the fees are generally non-recoverable so will be deducted from the refund.)
